To move the messages, drag the messages you selected to your new mailbox.
Select your iCloud inbox from the list of mailboxes in the sidebar, then select the messages to move.
Choose On My Mac from the Location pop-up menu, then enter a name for the new mailbox. Follow these steps to move messages from iCloud and store them on your Mac instead.
The smart mailbox is added in the left sidebar.Moving your messages from iCloud to your computer can be useful when your iCloud mailbox is full, or you want to reduce the amount of iCloud storage you're using.
Click the + button (lower left corner) and choose New Smart Mailbox.

VIPs also sync with your other devices that use iCloud, and you can set up special notifications for them so you don’t miss important messages. A star appears next to their messages, and their messages show in a special section in the left sidebar (as well as the inbox). You can automatically organize email with VIPs.
You can move messages to another section or mailbox.
Messages are imported to the On My Mac section.

If you’re importing from Mail, choose the folder containing the.
Choose a format, such as Apple Mail or Microsoft Entourage.
Click the File menu and choose Import Mailboxes.
To move the messages to another computer, transfer the folderĬontaining the mailboxes to a flash drive or network drive, then import.
After exporting, you can delete the mailbox from Mail.
You can check a box to save all the folders inside it as well.
Select a mailbox, then click the Mailbox menu and Export Mailbox.
If you don't see the mailbox list in the left column, click the View menu and Show Mailboxes.
There’s little reason to save messages outside of Mail unless you want to move them to another computer. To delete the original mailbox, right-click (or control-click) New mailbox and verify its contents before deleting them from the oldįolder.
